Teen Mom star Maci Bookout rose to fame after her appearance in MTV’s 16 and Pregnant. At that time, she was pregnant with her son, Bentley, with her former partner, Ryan Edwards. The two eventually broke up but maintained an amicable relationship for the sake of their child. Notably, Ryan has had multiple run-ins with the law and a history of substance abuse.

Given his controversial past, Maci has made it clear she doesn’t want him to repeat his mistakes. Interestingly, while in rehab, Ryan began dating Amanda Conner. Teen Mom: Maci Bookout & Amanda Conner Know Each Other Since High School!

Maci Bookout first appeared in MTV’s 16 and Pregnant and later Teen Mom. At just 16, Maci gave birth to her first child, Bentley, whom she shares with ex-Ryan Edwards. She later had two more children, Jayde, 9, and Maverick, 8, with her husband, Taylor McKinney. The family lives a peaceful life away from the usual glitz and glamour. They also co-own a clothing line, Things That Matter, since 2013.

As for Ryan, he moved on with Amanda Conner, whom he met during his rehab stay. Recently, Maci sat down with Amanda to discuss her path to sobriety. On Thursday, August 1, Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Maci and Amanda were seen having lunch together.

They revealed they had known each other since high school, leading Maci to ask Amanda about her time at the other high school. Amanda shared that she was expelled from other high schools for “drugs, fighting, and getting in trouble, getting arrested at a young age.” However, she assured Maci that she had turned her life around.

Amanda also talks about her mother’s struggles with drugs. She revealed that her mother was in “active addiction” and had even used drugs with her. After her father’s death from bone cancer, her mother relapsed into drug abuse. The topic then shifts to Amanda celebrating one year of sobriety.

Maci encouraged her to be proud of her achievement. “I wouldn’t want somebody to judge me based off anything I’ve done on my past,” the Teen Mom star stated. Amanda expressed feeling comfortable with Maci, to which the latter agreed, claiming there was a positive energy between both parties.

Teen Mom: Does Ryan Edwards’ Mother Approve Of Amanda?

During the lunch, Teen Mom dad Ryan’s mother Jen was also present with Maci and Amanda. However, by the looks of it, she does not entirely approve of Amanda. While she admitted to being hesitant about Ryan and Amanda’s relationship, she also blurted that she doesn’t want them to date. Maci also agreed with this notion. Amanda seemed to grasp where Jen was coming from.

“I understand, if it was my son, I would be like, ‘Hold on.’ So I get it,” she said.
