Doctor Who viewers say the same thing as fan-favourite returns to BBC show
Doctor Who fans were left overjoyed during the most recent episode, as Jo Martin made a surprise appearance in the beloved BBC sci-fi series.
Saturday night brought excitement for Doctor Who fans, as Jo Martin reprised her well-loved role as the Fugitive Doctor in the latest episode.
Fans were treated to a brief return of Jo, playing her iteration of the Doctor, during the newest episode, The Story and The Engine.
A gripping scene unfolded when Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor walked into his preferred barbershop in Lagos, Nigeria, only to become ensnared in an intricate puzzle.
In the episode, Michelle Asante’s character, Abena, confronted the Doctor. Blame was laid on him for past letdowns stemming from a meeting with the god Anansi, who had made a wager “to make me marry one of his daughters.”
At that point, the camera shifted to reveal Jo Martin’s version of the Doctor taking the place of Gatwa’s, reports Wales Online.
She then uttered the memorable line: “I was a fugitive back then. Anansi was wrong to offer that bet. And frankly, darling, I was busy in a different story – that might be finished one day..”

Her short but impactful guest appearance ignited excitement among fans of the show.
One devoted viewer shared: “Seeing Jo Martin again, I yelled. Seeing three, nine, twelve, and thasmin in archive footage, I screamed.”
On social media, another fan beamed with excitement: “So happy to see Jo Martin!”
Another audience member reacted with: “The doctor with no number. The fugitive doctor in a parallel timeline. When they do line-ups of all the doctors together, I’m always sad she isn’t there.”

One person was elated, commenting: ” Thrilled, Jo Martin is an amazing Doctor, and I’m delighted that this era continues to acknowledge her and bring her back!”
A fan speculated with anticipation: “Her line certainly felt like a hint towards the future of that incarnation… #DoctorWho #DoctorWhoSpoilers.”
Someone else added: “This was pure DOCTOR WHO,” Meanwhile, another chimed in stating: “This episode was everything this show is about. It was fun, it was educational, it was heavy, it had callbacks, and perfect pacing. And of course, we got to see more of the wonderful Jo Martin. 10/10 for sure!! #DoctorWho.”

Someone voiced a strong request, insisting: “We need to see Jo Martin finish her story as the Fugitive Doctor! Spin-off series now! #DoctorWho #DoctorWhoSpoilers”.
Recalling a conversation from March, Jo Martin alluded to her potential return, revealing: “It’s an amazing family to be a part of, and it’s a job that keeps on giving, because you never quite leave.
“There’s always that chance that you can have to go back and do this or do that. You just don’t know.”
