Doctor Who and Thunderbirds legend leaves eye-watering sum in will
The star worked on many iconic shows during his longstanding career.
Legendary voice actor David Graham, known to millions as the voice of cockney chauffeur Parker in the Thunderbirds and the sinister vocals of Doctor Who’s Daleks, left a £1.2million fortune in his will, probate documents revealed. The star died aged 99 in September 2024. He left an estate valued at £1,235,001, most of which goes to his niece Elizabeth Rehfeld and nephew Jonathan Smit, who both live in the United States. He also stipulated donations be made to Prostate Cancer, The Medical Foundation for the Victims of Torture, the Actors Benevolent Fund, a north London hospice and two Jewish charities, as reported by The Sun.
His most memorable on-screen performance was voicing Aloysius Parker, the butler and driver in the iconic puppet show Thunderbirds from the mid-1960s and its subsequent film adaptations. In addition to Parker, he lent his skills to other characters on the show including Gordon Tracy, the daring pilot, and Brains, the brilliant engineer, between 1965 and 1966.

He made a triumphant return to the role when Thunderbirds was revived in 2015 with Thunderbirds Are Go!
Remarkably, he was the sole original cast member to take part in the reboot.
He also served as the chilling voice behind the Daleks in the classic Doctor Who series throughout the 60s and 70s.

In an interview with Mirror in 2015, he reminisced about creating the distinctive Daleks’ sound alongside fellow voice actor Peter Hawkins.
“I created it with Peter Hawkins, another voice actor,” he recalled.
“We adopted this staccato style then they fed it through a synthesiser to make it more sinister.”
Younger viewers were familar with him for bringing life to the character of Grandpa Pig in the beloved children’s series Peppa Pig.
