If there is one thing England gave us during the 20th century, it was a very particular hero who traveled showing incredible places and solving problems with cunning and impossible gadgets. As time went by, a new actor would embody him and his legions of fans would argue about who was the best. And no, I’m not referring to the ever iconic 007 agent, James Bond, but the other great British created but Gallifreyan hero: Doctor Who. From his first appearance in 1963 to his latest version in 2015, we have had the same character, but with different interpretations thanks to the power of regeneration.

But, if we get picky, who has been the best actor who has played The Doctor? As always, it’s a very complicated question, especially for a character that has been on television for 62 years and that has reached each person in a very different way, so it’s very subjective to choose the best interpretation of the Time Lord.

And, while many lists do the impossible, the experts at Space have put together one of the most recent ones taking into account the recent departure of Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, awarding him a fairly decent score that mixes new and old in the timey wimey stuff of time travel.
