Meghan Markle received the “most powerful message” from the Royal Family when they remained silent on her birthday, a PR expert has claimed.

In what has been described as the “most British snub you could imagine”, Andy Barr from 10Yetis said they all failed to publicly wish her happy birthday on social media last year.

It’s understood such well wishes are published at 9am on the dot. The Duchess of Sussex celebrated her birthday in August 2023 in style in Montecito, California.

She turned 42 on August 6, 2023 and the Royal Family seemingly snubbed her when they failed to post about the mother-of-two’s milestone celebratory day.

This year nothing has been uttered on social media for the Duchess. Andy Barr from 10Yetis told The Mirror US: “Sometimes the most powerful message you can send is when you say absolutely nothing.”

He added: “I am sure that there will have been communications behind the scenes to wish her a happy birthday but the social media silence is the most British snub you could imagine.”

He added: “The modern-day social media equivalent of saying ‘it’s fine’ when clearly it isn’t. If the Royal Family had said anything it too would have been over analysed so maybe they thought it best to keep quiet.

“Let’s not forget, the Royal family are the masters of playing the long game and they won’t have forgotten the level of pain that Meghan and Harry caused them in the very recent past, not least at a time when the country was mourning the loss of the Queen.

“Maybe it is time for Meghan and Harry to test the waters and send a few heart emoji’s via Instagram.”

Ben Austin from absolute.digital told The Mirror US that this year, they “failed to publicly wish Meghan a happy birthday despite doing so previously, further highlighting this year’s snub”.

He went on: “It comes at a time after Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals even though the big day had been celebrated by official royal accounts in the past. This leads us to believe that there may be a stronger message beneath the surface for not doing so.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in 2020.

The couple then moved to Montecito in California several months down the line to begin their new lives away from England with their growing family. The husband and wife duo now reside in the Santa Barbra area with their two children Archie and Lilibet
