Harry and Meghan row erupts on Jeremy Vine as furious stars clash over Royal Family claim
Jeremy Vine’s Channel 5 show sparked a fiery debate today (July 25) as panellists clashed over their views on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Vocal coach Carrie Grant and broadcaster Mike Parry were guests on the show when a caller named Angela chimed in with her thoughts on the Duke of Sussex. She argued that the nation has a habit of building people up only to tear them down, stating: “That’s precisely what they’ve done with Harry”.
She expressed her distress over the situation, suggesting they “ganged up on Harry, like they did with Diana,” and agreed with his criticism of the media. Her comments set the panel alight, with Parry contesting her perspective.

“I don’t think they gang up on him. You’ve got to remember the royal family, or a public institution in this country has been around for a millennium, and that there has to be access from the public to the royal family, and traditionally, that’s always been done through the newspapers,” he clarified.
“It’s an arrangement which both sides have heavily relied on since the Second World War. Then suddenly Harry comes in. He’s a breath of fresh air with Meghan. But then I think their demands, you know, within the Royal family, to be treated as superstars of the family, backfired on them,” he speculated.
Angela was not pleased with Mike’s comments and accused the Royal family of “trying to destroy” Harry and Meghan, adding that the “press is helping them.”, reports the Express. Mike was quick to dismiss the caller’s claims, stating: “They’re not trying to destroy them. What do you mean?
“Who is trying to destroy the royal family, an institution which is widely loved in this country. Nobody’s trying to destroy Harry and Meghan.”
However, his co-panelist Carrie sided with Angela, asserting: “I think they are trying to destroy Harry and Meghan absolutely.”
This sparked a heated response from Mike as she elaborated on her viewpoint. “If you look at everything that Princess Kate does she can do no wrong. Meghan can do no right, even if she does exactly the same things,” she argued.
“There is whatever you want to call that, whatever the narrative is behind that, whatever value system people have that put on her, their own racism or whatever, there is bad press about Megan and great, unendingly great press about Kate,” she observed.
Despite her fervent defence of the couple, many viewers felt that Harry had brought the negative coverage and attitudes upon himself.
