Royal Secrets Exposed: Six Bombshells Rock the Palace in Harry and Meghan’s Documentary!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were at the centre of a new documentary that came out last night in Germany.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hit headlines again today after a new documentary about the couple was released in Germany last night.

The programme, named ‘Harry – The Lost Prince’, aired on Germany’s ZDF network on Tuesday and looked at the life of the royal couple in more detail.

Throughout the documentary, which primarily focused on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s life since quitting the Royal Family in 2020, the couple received some damning criticism from those that know them.

This included a comment from one of their neighbours in Montecito and a harsh remark from a veteran that knew Prince Harry in Afghanistan.

One of the biggest bombshells to come out of the documentary was the fact that Meghan, 43, has not been involved in the Montecito community, despite having now lived there for four years.

The duchess, who has previously spoken about the importance of communities, is said to not venture out much according to a neighbour, who also mentioned that life in the area “doesn’t come cheap”.

Richard Mineards, one of the couple’s neighbours, said: “I personally don’t think that Meghan is an asset to our community… She doesn’t really go out or get involved with the community.

“Harry has to a certain extent, because he’s quite jolly… but Meghan doesn’t seem to get seen anywhere… And you don’t see him either.”

The couple have lived in the neighbourhood since 2020 with their children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.

2. Prince Harry slated by veteran for dishing dirt on his family

Prince Harry also received criticism in the documentary by a fellow veteran who shared a flight home from Afghanistan with the duke in 2008.

The Mail Online reported that veteran soldier Ben McBean, who lost his left arm and had his right leg amputated above the knee after being seriously injured by a landmine blast, thinks the prince should just “leave it out” when it comes to bad-mouthing his family.

This view comes after some of the duke’s controversial actions over the last few years, including his detail of personal family arguments in his 2023 memoir Spare.

McBean said on camera: ‘I just thought, with him kind of whinging about his family and he was saying something about his brother pushing him over or something like that, I was just like, “Mate, just leave it out”.

“You and your brother had a little fisticuffs…but family’s family, you know.”

3. Prince Harry was not pleased with the Megxit deal

Another revelation in the documentary was the fact that the duke is dissatisfied at “Megxit” as he was unable to leave on his terms.

In the show, royal biographer Angela Levin said that the prince “didn’t get exactly what he wanted” as he wanted to be half in and half out the Royal Family.

She said in the programme: “But the late Queen who died said that actually doesn’t work and I don’t want you to use your position within the royal family to make money.”

Elsewhere in the documentary, royal expert Jack Royston, from the podcast The Royal Report, said that if the couple were to do this when they left it would have been on the border of “corruption”.

He said: “If they were to be perceived to be promoting their commercial projects while representing the Queen, then that’s also… starting to border on corruption there because they should never be using the monarchy as a platform.”

4. Prince Harry and Meghan only spend one hour a week working for Archewell Foundation

The new show also reportedly highlighted the fact that the couple only spend one hour a week on their charity work for the Archewell Foundation, which they set up in 2020.

German journalist Dr Ulrike Grunewald, who directed the documentary, said: “What surprised me most was how ineffectively Harry and Meghan’s foundation is organised.

“The amount of donations has fallen drastically in one year: from $13million in 2021 to $2million in 2022. According to their own documents, Harry and Meghan only work one hour a week for the Archewell Foundation.”

This revelation came on the same day the 2023 tax return for the charity was made public knowledge.

5. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle only mix with ‘wealthy personnel’ on trips

The couple were also accused of only mixing with “wealthy” people on trips overseas. Dai Davies, a former Head of Royal Protection and a Divisional Commander in the Metropolitan Police, said: “In Colombia, although there are very rich people there, the vast majority, 85 percent or 90 percent, are very poor.

“And what I’ve noticed of these tours, he mixes with the upper classes.

“He doesn’t really, apart from carefree orchestrated areas where he mixes with so-called the ‘normal people’ – well they’re not. These are carefully orchestrated campaigns as far as I can see… I look quite dispassionately at the evidence and the evidence I’ve seen is, it’s all about Harry and Meghan.”

6. Prince Harry has made himself a ‘potential target’

According to The Mirror, Davies also said in the documentary that Harry has made himself a target over the years by disclosing how many Taliban fighters he had killed, something that should not be revealed so openly.

Talking about Spare, Davies said: “If you open your big mouth, as he has collectively, that book, not just on that, but given away all kinds of secrets, then it’s not surprising that some people might regard you as a potential target.”
