Royal Drama: Prince Harry shocked by shocking verdict…

A think tank wants Prince Harry’s visa files to be made public in light of his drug use revelations made in the memoir Spare.

Prince Harry: Jobson on possible issues with US citizenship

Prince Harry’s visa files saga may be over in just days as a US judge has ruled documents must be made public by Tuesday at the latest. Judge Carl Nichols, who set the deadline, approved the redactions suggested by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), saying they were “appropriate”, the Daily Mail reports.

It is not yet clear which documents will be released and how redacted they will be following the Washington-based judge’s decision. However, this move may shed light on which answer the Duke of Sussex gave when asked if he was a drug user on the visa application forms he was likely required to fill out when he moved to the United States. DHS lawyers previously said three items would be released in a redacted form, while a fourth had to remain private, according to the news outlet.

This comes after the right-wing US Heritage Foundation think tank sued the DHS last year. The agency had refused a Freedom of Information request for the Duke of Sussex’s visa paperwork.

In his bombshell memoir Spare, released in January 2023, Harry made claims about his recreational use of cocaine, magic mushrooms and marijuana, as well as psychedelics such as ayahuasca, as a form of therapy.

After these revelations, the think tank claimed drug use should have disqualified the Duke from getting a US visa. It has since been trying to find out whether he lied or received a special waiver from former US President Joe Biden’s administration.

Judge Nichols, who was appointed by US President Donald Trump, is quoted by the Mail as saying in his order: “The government has provided the court with its proposed redactions to the documents… those redactions appearing appropriate, the government is ORDERED to lodge on the docket the redacted versions of those documents no later than March 18, 2025”.
