Meghan Markle’s ‘joke’ about Prince Harry’s parents

According to Quinn, Meghan Markle made a joke about Harry’s parents due to his stark differences to his brother Prince William.

Ironically, who Harry’s father is has previously been something that has been questioned due to Princess Diana’s affair with army captain James Hewitt.

Although Diana’s relationship with Hewitt reportedly occurred two years after Harry was born, many have found similarities in the two men’s red hair.

Reports have also fuelled the fire, claiming that Harry doesn’t look like his true father, King Charles.

Despite these accusations being built on a baseless rumour, it seems even the Duchess of Sussex has poked fun at Harry’s family dynamics. Quinn explained how the former actress previously pointed out just how different William and Harry are.

She used to make jokes about Harry not having the same parents as William.

Quinn wrote of William: “Being a young king in waiting is rather like being a pop star. The position and the glamour and money associated with it does strange things to people. At Kensington Palace, a number of women, including female staff, were thought to have flirted with William.

“One or two female members of staff were moved to other duties as a result. William’s rather awkward, even inhibited personality – an inheritance from his father – was baffling for the more open, spontaneous Meghan Markle.

“A member of staff recalled Meghan asking, ‘Why do William and Charles sound so serious all the time?’

“‘She used to make jokes about Harry not having the same parents as William, as, she insisted, Harry isn’t pompous at all. He’s chill.’”

Apparently, Meghan isn’t alone in her jests.

It seems even Princess Kate can see the humour within the royal family. The Princess of Wales allegedly joked about her husband’s relatives and their mind-boggling links.

Quinn claimed: “Kate inevitably sees a different side of William and she enjoys ribbing him about his family. She insists that, as he gets older, William increasingly looks like his great-great-great-grandfather Edward VII and she likes teasing him about the fact that his stepmother Camilla is descended from Edward VII’s favourite mistress.”

Edward VII allegedly boasted a number of mistresses. Shockingly, his supposed favourite, Alice Keppel, is related to the Queen Camilla.

Alice Keppel is the great-grandmother of Camilla – who is now, of course, King Charles‘ wife.
