Royal Shockwave: Prince Harry’s Decision May Sever Ties with William!
Speculation has mounted that Prince Harry could work on a new Netflix project about the life of his late mother Princess Diana for the 30th anniversary of her untimely death

Prince Harry would break a long-held promise to Prince William if he made an ‘astonishing’ Netflix decision, according to an expert. Speculation has swirled that the Duke of Sussex could work with Netflix, with whom he and wife Meghan have a multi-million dollar deal, on a documentary to mark the 30th anniversary of the death of his late mother, Princess Diana.
It comes as Meghan continues to create shows for Netflix, with the second season of her lifestyle show With Love, Meghan being lined up for the streaming service later this year. The last major documentary on Diana came eight years ago, on the 20th anniversary on her death featuring both Harry and older brother William. In that film, the brothers said it would be the last time they would speak so candidly about the death of their mother.

However, sources close to Harry deny that he is taking part in such a project with Netflix. And the Mirror’s royal editor Russell Myers says he cannot see Harry working with the streamer for a documentary on the late princess either.
He told True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat: “I can’t see this. I’ve seen those reports and I’d be absolutely astonished if Harry was to work with Netflix in this matter. Harry and William had taken part in the BBC film, both had said publicly that that would be the last time that they’d spoken about their mother, drawing a line under it.
“And of course you’d have the accusations of Harry profiting of his mother’s death. There surely has to be more projects in the pipeline for him with Netflix or whoever, than talking about his mother’s passing. I mean, it’s not like a celebratory look back at her life for a birthday. It’s a rather tragic reminder of a life lost on such a tragic anniversary. So I don’t think that would happen at all.”

In that documentary almost eight years ago, both princes revealed how shocked and confused they were in the aftermath of their mother’s death in August 1997. The two young princes were on holiday in Balmoral with their father and other members of the Royal Family when they heard the news she had been killed following a car crash.
The documentary revealed the brothers’ conflicted feelings at walking behind her coffin aged just 15 and 12 having to greet the screaming and grieving crowds after her death and how they suppressed their emotions so they were never seen crying in public.
But speaking on behalf of the pair, William said: “We won’t be doing this again – we won’t speak as openly or publicly about her again, because we feel hopefully this film will provide the other side from close family friends you might not have heard before, from those who knew her best and from those who want to protect her memory, and want to remind people of the person that she was.”
Since making that documentary, much has changed for William and Harry with the pair not believed to be on speaking terms. Their relationship has been at breaking point for years, especially after Harry railed against his brother in his Netflix docuseries and in his memoir, Spare.
The rift has so far showed no signs of thawing in recent months, as when they both attended a memorial service for their late uncle Lord Robert Fellowes last August, they reportedly did not speak and avoided each other. Harry also has a rocky bond with hs father King Charles, who is still undergoing cancer treatment following his diagnosis in February last year.
