Catelynn Baltierra (Lowell) has been under fire recently for slamming her daughter Carly’s adoptive parents online. The Teen Mom star has now addressed rumors that she only contacts her daughter to give updates on her sisters. Here is what Catelynn had to say about the claims being made.

Catelynn Lowell Rants About Communication With Carly

As Teen Mom fans know, Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra decided to give Carly up for adoption. They were teen parents when they had her and thought it would be the best decision for everyone involved. The adoptive parents, Teresa and Brandon Davis agreed to open adoption for the first few years of Carly’s life. After that, they could decide what would be best for both families moving forward.

Time after time, Catelynn and Tyler messed up when it came to visiting Carly. At one point, they were several hours late to meet her because Catelynn wanted to work on a scrapbook for Carly. There has also always been tension when they go to meet their oldest daughter.

Recently, Catelynn has been bashing Carly’s parents for not allowing her the contact she’d like to have with her daughter. Earlier this week, Catelynn took to Instagram to rant about what people were saying regarding her communication with her daughter.

“Some of you blow my mind!” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “To really think I only messaged Carly updates about her sisters and our ‘vacations.’ I have always reached out asking for updates on how she was doing, what she’s into, can we FaceTime, how school is going for her, etc.”

She continued, “This was more recently I messaged weekly updates to Carly about our family and her sisters BECAUSE we were being ignored! It’s important for Carly to see her sisters etc. and to know what’s going on!”

Teen Mom Fans Shocked By Cate’s Actions

Teen Mom fans shared a screenshot of her statement on Reddit and offered their thoughts. One person pointed out that Catelynn said she was being ignored and continued to try and reach out.

“Hitting someone up every other day because they’re ignoring you is never the move,” the Reddit user wrote. “That also makes it seem like it was done passive aggressively on Cate’s part.”

Another person agreed, saying that if Catelynn and Tyler were being ignored then they should have just sent their well wishes for Carly. “Obviously they need some space,” they commented.

Several people pointed out that the Teen Mom star seems to act like Carly is away for summer camp and she’s sending updates on the family. When in reality, Carly isn’t asking for updates about her bio sisters or the family.
