Shock: Princess Anne admits she ‘remembers nothing’ from accident which left her hospitalised

The Princess Royal, 74, opened up to PA news agency recently, revealing that she remembers “nothing” of the accident.
But Anne said after the accident, she’s reminded that “every day is a bonus”.

Princess Anne admits she doesn’t remember accident
The accident occurred on her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire last June.
It is believed she had an unexpected encounter in a field, which led to a five-day stay in hospital.
Speaking to PA news agency, Princess Anne replied when asked if she remembers anything: “No, nothing.
“I know where I thought I was going and that was to go to the chickens, no, nothing to do with horses.”
You are sharply reminded that every day is a bonus.
“I don’t have any idea what I was doing in the field because I never normally went that way,” she continued. “It just reminds you, shows you – you never quite know, something [happens] and you might not recover.”
Following the accident, an air ambulance reportedly rushed to the scene. Anne was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for further treatment and observation.
She spent five days in hospital before returning to her royal duties almost three weeks later.
When asked about any lingering effects from the ordeal, she quipped: “Apparently not, at least I don’t think so. As far as I know, nobody else thinks so – they haven’t been honest enough to tell me yet. So far, so good.”
She reflected more somberly: “You are sharply reminded that every day is a bonus, really.”

Princess Royal makes visit to South Africa
The Princess Royal remains one of the busiest working royals. Earlier this week, Anne returned from a whirlwind trip to South Africa, where she attended several engagements.
During her visit, she laid a wreath at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission memorial in Cape Town. This memorial is the first to honour the sacrifices of black South Africans during the First World War.
Speaking about her role as CWGC president, Anne expressed her gratitude for taking on the position from the Duke of Kent, who had served in the role for over 50 years.
“He did it very well and has covered the globe in support of them… and I’m the beneficiary of that, which has allowed me to take that on,” she said.
Despite her busy schedule and the absence of her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, due to a reported ligament injury, the princess appeared upbeat and energetic during her engagements.
As Anne approaches her 75th birthday this August, she continues to prove that age will not deter her from her royal commitments.
“Take each day as it comes, they say,” she said recently.
