Prince Harry opened up about the loss of the beloved rescue dog he shared with Meghan Markle this week at the Invictus Games.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, was at a wheelchair curling event in Canada on Sunday when he met Thorn, a black Labrador retriever who supports mental health for first responders in the Yukon. The couple also met the owner of the dog Ali Harper.
While petting the dog, Harry reportedly told Ali how much he misses his dog Guy, who passed away just weeks ago. At the time of Guy’s death, Meghan, 43, shared a montage of photos and videos of the beagle with herself, Harry, and their two children, as she declared she had shed too many tears to count.
Harper, 43, told People about the interaction with Harry. She said: “Harry came right over and sat down right next to Thorn and kneeled down and started petting him and said how much he misses his dog.” And said thank you very much for what we do with Thorn.”
As reported by GB News, the Duchess of Sussex also interacted with the service dog along with her husband. The emotional interaction came as the couple are currently in Canada for the Invictus Games, which Harry is founder of.
